Visa Application
Effective 25 March 2013, all visa applications will have to done at the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC). The AVAC is located at:
Equity Plaza,
20 Cecil Street #11-02/05

It is important to note that the AVAC is just a lodgement centre; all types of visa applications will still be assessed and approved by the Australian High Commission here.
This is the AVAC website: www.vfsglobal.com/australia/singapore/. There you will find useful information about the visa application process plus a facility to track the status of your application.
The Department of Immigration & Citizenship Website
This is a good place to start learning a little about moving to Australia. On this website, you will find a wealth of information about the immigration process including the various types of visas that Australia grants and their requirements. There are for example business skills visa, skilled migration visas, employer sponsored migration visas, family migration visas and more.
While on the site, don’t forget to navigate to the living in Australia section, where those who have already gotten through their immigration paperwork can find information on what to do and things to prepare before, during and after their move.

Insights From Those who Have Moved
Below is an interesting article published by The Telegraph. It is an interview with a bristish expat family who took the plunge and moved to Australia. In it, they talked about how Australia became their destination of choice (they had initially thought of moving to France), how they set up their business and most importantly, how they coped with their initial months there. While we may not be from Britain, their experience, especially on how they overcome their challenges like meeting new friends in the first few months on arriving in Australia is definitely worth a read.
